TRANSFORMATIONS

"Helen appeared one day, set about the room and transformed the area in only an hour and a half. I am delighted with the difference.  I have felt drawn to the area and I have enjoyed sitting in it.  It feels like part of the house again!  Thank you Helen. Everything now has a new and better place where it is less in sight but I still know where to find it!" - Mr RS

Helen has successfully cleared and decorated two rooms in our house, and to a very impressive standard: sanding, caulking and painting both walls and woodwork. She even did some impressive chalk art images in both rooms! She is very organised when working and cleans to impeccable standards afterwards. All items cleared from the rooms were sorted and organised into keep, recycle, and rubbish and have been successfully stored in their new homes. - Mr RW

Whilst I generally only do basic garden work ,as I'm not trained to do anything more, I chose to add the images here just to display my capabilities. I don't have all the photos from the beginning but this garden was on a steep slope, tapering off at the bottom, and filled with wild flowers and weeds. The steep slope was firstly dug into and a foundation of concrete and a layer of bricks laid down. the railway sleepers were then added and a step built in to avoid the look of a steep wall; either side of the step was filled with slate and planted with herbs. The upper level was then infilled and turfed. Large black planters were placed in front of the sleepers and then the lower half of the garden levelled; a step had to be built in, for necessity, and so I used wood and infilled it with cement and lined it before filling with slate. The soil was filled with so many stones that I collected them and used them as a flower border to add more texture before turfing the area.

I like the different levels created along with the different textures of wood, slate and stones, and also the planters, which I feel look striking against the sleepers. Now that the garden has matured it looks very different from these images and has filled out immensely. And whilst I very much like this garden and am impressed by my own efforts, especially because I created it and implemented it pretty much single-handedly (including carrying and putting in place 2.5 meter sleepers in south-facing heat!), I have to say, I wouldn't want to do it again!
